Need to call my mom...

and thank her!

I knew motherhood would be hard... but I realize now the sacrifices you make that are mostly overlooked and underrated. There are no sick days. My fever spiked to 102 last night and I was too scared to pick Kat up to move around the house aside from changing her diaper because I was so dizzy and lightheaded. Luckily she was an angel all night, and the only grief she's given today has been to her Daddy when I took a nap this evening.

My fever finally broke today around 2... but I still have a wicked head cold. I suspect the fever was from a blocked duct in one of the 'girls'... I sat with the electric pump for almost an hour this morning and a few hours later the fever broke. I guess when it rains it pours. Thank goodness for the electric pump! I was too weak and tired to use the manual for the length of time it would have taken.

It's getting better and easier, don't get me wrong. When I'm not sick as a dog, we are almost to a routine with WeeKat. She's sleeping for 3-4 hours at a stretch now between feedings most of the time. I am comforting myself with the knowledge that she's growing bigger every day, and soon enough the newborn stage will be past us and I can actually start doing more than living feeding to feeding.

I kinda don't want her to grow, but at the same time I can't wait until she can communicate with me to tell me what is wrong.

Moms are the toughest breed out there, and I have a newfound respect for all of them. Be sure to thank the Moms in your life... they've likely put up with more from you than you'll ever know. :o) I'm already racking up my scorecard, and she's not even a month old yet!
